The objects in this series are basic forms that arise from a certain sense of proportion or intuition. After firing, I sometimes make
combinations with all kinds of discarded objects on the street or along the seaside, like a weathered chain, rubber bands or pieces of driftwood. My eyes are constantly focussed on the ground, hoping to find something I instantly feel attached to and which is ‘allowed’ to be taken home.
These stray objects have a reference to a former life, and add some ‘soul ‘ or character. It gives great satisfaction to find just the right piece to fit naturally, as the ‘Organics’ seem to be made for the pieces of driftwood upon which they rest.
